This seems like very strange timing to be considering this considering the huge
changes that happen this summer to the online suite.

Personally, I've tried both and I do prefer bpos, and find it plenty fast from
any device I've tried. Some of the functionality is the kind of thing
googleapps just don't offer. So I consider it a much more 'hearty' platform.

But googleapps, as a lightweight matter has a lot lower support requirements
and it isn't as finicky. And googleapps has far better direct device support.

I could see jumping into this after office10 online update, due this summer,
but I'm not sure id be chomping to switch if your on google now, not until
after the changes on ms's end then.

Subject: [H] Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite

Question for the group. The NGO I work for is going to be transitioning
from Google Apps to the Microsoft Productivity Online Suite. I'm a bit
concerned about this and was wondering what the experience was with the BPOS
from the group.

I'm a huge Gmail/Apps fan, as are a couple others in the org, but the
management are hardcore Outlook/Office people and have not taken to GApps
well. Online office doc collaboration is also a major driver towards BPOS,
as is the inability to sync some of the older Blackberries (which the older
folks in the org have) with GApps. Of course, my iPhone works beautifully.

My major concern is that I'm going to be forced to use some crappy, slow web
interface over a VPN that has half the features of Gmail/Apps. And I'm
concerned that it won't play well with my iPhone. We're only 10 people,
with 4 of us in remote offices around the world and the rest in the home
office in Colorado. 6 of us (including me) travel extensively so offline
access and sync is really important.

So should I be concerned?
