was wondering about the logic, I like the idea of the PSU using outside air.
That Lian-Li case caught my eye, was just browsing and have always wanted a
aluminum case. Those I have built seemed to run cooler and produce less noise
for some reason. My current Supermicro case fans have gotten noisy and the
q9650 seems to be noisy at full throttle so I have stuff coming for that, ( and
new case fans. ) The old Vantec Stealth are not as quiet as some of the new
stuff. Thermalright seems to have some kick ass quiet high CFM fans. Let ya
know.
No RAID at the present but there are 4 drives in the system, boot and data with
backup drives for each running Standby Disk backup system.
Thanks to everyone, has got this old brain thinking. sometimes dangerous and
always expensive :'(
Less free time then Duncan so get in no where near as much trouble>:-}

So, what is your question or are you just telling us your thoughts. My
personal recommendation would be a case with side cover fans, room behind
the motherboard tray to hide wires and a bottom mounted PSU because it
uses cool ambient air instead of warm case air to cool itself (I love my
Cooler Master CM690). So, do you do RAID by any chance?

Been partial to Supermicro cases but their service is the worse.
Always thought the PSU helped ventilate the case. with those nice big
bottom fans.
Happy Halloween
