I get approximately 80MBs on internal HD-->HD (SATA II). My ESATA-->Internal HD varies, but probably averages 60-80MBs USB 2.0 probably averages 25MB/s. But the speed varies based on the sizes of the files. Larger files get a faster speed.

I usually get a good burst of over 100 and then it settles down between 20 to 40 MB's per second. Like you I feel that this is pitiable performance and don't understand why my internal SATA to SATA speeds are no better than file transfers over my network. Anybody with any ideas on that? My mobo's are all current and I'm using a mix of Vista and Windows 7.
