Ok those are great data points and good to know-thanks Bobby!  So USB, even 2.0 
is pretty slow, since I get in that 25 MB/sec range whereas I can get a lot 
more with internal SATA II or eSATA...hmmm...
 
Will look into improving my connectivity then tho I don't know how much I can 
do with a T61; in the meantime:
