>I traveled over the holidays to my Mom's. Her router is at the back of the
>house and I tend to stay on the other end. The wireless is hit and miss (so
>bad that my phone just didn't work on her wireless). So, this year I got a WD

>wall socket, which they claim you're not supposed to do) and the other unit

>(anyone know of a good unit for that) that would plug into one of the ports on

>The really good news is that this same WD powerline AV system works with my
>NETGEAR Powerline AV stuff. I just plugged one unit into a wall socket and
>instantly have 4 100 Mbit ports for internet connections. This works much
>better than just depending on wireless at all parts of the house...speedtest
>shows 40+ mbps in remote parts of the house.
>Basically, I have 8 additional internet ports that can be in two different
>parts of the house or travel with me.

>Just thought I would report to the collective on recent Powerline stuff. It
>seems this hasn't worked very well in the past but things seem to work much
