Gaffer,
Caps again? Power supply? Darn! This never entered my thoughts.
Thank you.
I recall. But, trying to take this thing apart is a major pain. I think
this printer was built as a complete toss-away! I'll think some more.
Until the "GO" button fails, I can still get prints out of it ATM!

At this point, believe I will trundle the printer up the road to a Brother
Certified service station (local). Yes, I suppose the repair bill may be
2x what I paid for the printer, but, I still have a spare drum module
and a spare toner cart. for it. And, I don't believe I can do a swap/return.

Am now looking at the Brother 5370DW as an upgrade/replacement.
Best,
Duncan

May be too old (12/2006). Opinions welcome.
Device posts the<Paper> RED LED without feed after OS Print cmd
intermittently.
Mostly, can be reset by pressing the ON switch..........
No paper fed. Yes, use moderate quality paper.
Not dirty.
Bad Caps ! Common problem. CPU corruption from noisy power supply.
Replace all the caps in the power supply and check/replace motor
decoupling caps.

Does anybody sell parts for this device?

Suspect drum feed-in switch. Can not prove yet.
Suspect paper-feed logic/mechanical also.

I do not fully grasp this "S" path logic yet.
If I take it apart any deeper, it will become a viking funeral!
No. Not in contact with Brother.........yet!
I suspect I do know the conversation anyway.............. :)
Printer cost $99.
Still have spare drum module and toner cartridge for it. Darn!
Wondering?
Best,
Duncan
