Thane/Gaffer,
Between both of you I now see some light! Yes, when I bought my current
Brother, I knew it would get wonky sooner or later. It passed thru my
'infant
mortality' period; and, it has worked w/zero trouble until now.
I have fed, cared for, cleaned it per spec. I can freely accept that it
is going TU.
I got 5 years use from it. Fine.
I am off to visit Lexmark now. Thanks for the recc.
With laser (b/w) printers, I am not so stuck on the brand. I will eat
the Brother
spares I have. Just a cost of feeding the beast!
Besides, truthfully, I never liked the silly, confusing Brother S/W that
supported their
printers!
Thank you both!

I hope that you mean Lexmark Laser printer ! Otherwise I wouldn't give
Lexmark the time of day !
Well, I wouldn't buy anything other than a laser myself (except for
specialized tasks, of course.) However, the Pro series Lexmarks are
nice machines, come with a 5 year warranty, and certainly beat any of
the other guys hands down.
