Aside from one DOA consumable, I've also been happy with my Samsung color
laser - CLP-620nd. It's normally $400, but frequently discounted to $300,
and you can get factory refurbs for just over $200. It's something of a
beast, though.

Don't know on consumables cost--it wasn't part of my evaluation. I do know
that there are refill kits available now (there weren't when I got it).
