Can I ask a simple question w/o starting an opinion war?
Finished upgrade of internal LAN wiring to CAT6. I run a wired GBit over copper LAN. Do see visual difference. Fine. Internal LAN is complete. Only took too many years! Question: I understand that CAT6 has higher frequency margin than CAT 5E. Correct? Question: I understand that CAT6 has better internal cable-pair shielding than CAT5E....which has something to do with less cross-talk corruption of data, or, 'interference.' Correct? LAN is working solid ATM. No complaints. I do so have a grumble with the cheesy "CAT6 In-Line couplers" I got from MonoPrice! 1 failed solid after 20 minutes. Another is now strangely intermittent*. RMA for ~$4 is not likely. Yes, the couplers were made in China. *this I can fix with a pair of longer cables, on-order, because I did not read the tape measure properly and assign the normal fudge factor! My bad totally. Thanks, Duncan
