Thane,
I was sooooo hoping this suggestion would not show up!
Do not have a spare drive ATM. I've never learned how to make
'images' of my current OS environs. I do back up each client
monthly to my NAS after MS Updates does its' business.
{Yes Gary, I have never tried a Restore!}
Besides, if I start from scratch, my PC's NIC driver will be really old
(off the ASUS CD). And, I will spent the remainder of this day watching
MS fill the PC with all the WinXP patches I have now. Hmm............. :(
I could disable the current on-board RealTek Gbit NIC, and, install an
Intel Gbit NIC card (GT Pro/1000)! I have never really been too warm to
the RealTek on-board NIC of this ASUS m/b. I've lived with it because it
came with the P5Q3 m/b. Finding up2date drivers from ASUS or RealTek
has been a constant PITA!
Thinking yet again!!!!!!!!!

I sort of agree with 'printer problem.' However, Brother TS says NO!
Please speak to MS!
I'd like to prove a bad printer NIC and/or Print server before I do
battle with the local
Service shop.
How about a fresh install of Windows? If you have an extra drive,
install Windows, the NIC driver, and see if the Brother will install
then. I'm betting it won't.
