Thane,
I stumbled around on my test PC and figured out the need to right-click
each ghost to 'mark' it (class, device, wildcard). I did manage to get
some ghosts to go away!

Can you define a difference between 'Class' and 'Device?'
I sorta understand 'Device' as true hardware, logic chips, something
I can put fingers on. 'Class' to me is an unknown!

There are no /Printer/ entries in GB ATM because I can NOT install a standard
tcp/ip port for a printer. I now chronically get a new Wizard window that
tells me the printer's print server is now of and "unknown type".
I can interpret this to mean that the printer (post power outage) no
longer knows what it is(?).

Yes, if I can find an old printer cable, I can try a direct install to a PC (and
then point all other LAN clients to the PC w/printer attached).
Yes, if I can find a long enough USB cable, I could try same as above.
I would like to avoid all of this; until I have no other options!

Brother Tech Support tells me my problem is with Microsoft; refuses to
discuss this matter any further!
I have never spoken to MS yet.

I can speculate that MS may no longer recognize the Brother NC-6800h
as compatible hardware for WinXP and newer. Fine. Sux2BMe! I do not know
how to speak to MS about this............... :(
Thank you,
Duncan

Thane,
The only ghosts about network anything are:
/Network adapters/ RAS Async Adapter, 1394 Net Adapter
/Ports (COM & LPT)/ COM1

BTW, GB does NOT seem to remove any of the ghosts.
Do I have to right-click each ghost and choose Add Class,
Add Device, or Add Wildcard first?

Add the class (or device, if you're being more specific) and once you have everything you want removed, click the remove button at the bottom. There aren't any printer entries in there, are there?
