Dear Dan. You made me jump back in my chair! I was surprised that you wrote, "Likewise, I don't believe, contrary to what appears to be the view of many in our profession today, that we are or should be in the information business." It could be that I misunderstood your comment. When you see a librarian, is all you see a person who shelves books and dusts bookshelves? I am sure not! Don't you see the informational services that librarians and library workers provide in libraries these days? Heck, my qualifications here in Toronto from my community collage program is "Library and Information Technician."
