That might be a problem for American libraries. The word "expulsion" implies that it was done by a foreign power, so talking about Jews being expelled from part of Eretz Yisrael by the Israeli government implies that the Israeli government is not Jewish (which is a controversial proposition, as is the proposition that the Gazans defeated the Israelis and expelled the settlers). Furthermore, many American users of LCSH (particularly many who consider themselves Jews) would be quite offended by the idea that the Israeli government is run by a bunch of goyim. For similar reasons, we would never use "Liberation of Gush Katif" which is how many users look at the event.
However the biggest problem is that the "establishment" American media, influenced by the Israeli government, used the phrase "Disengagement" - a military term for a withdrawal to a more advantageous position. It should be noted that the ruling parties in Israel used "disengagement" in their English publicity. Remember, LCSH is serving a broad group of user: Hilonim and Hareidim, Zionists and supporters of Neturi Karta, Palestinian Nationalists and Modern Orthodox, etc. Terminology should be comprehensible and non-offensive to all sides of the political, ethnic and religios spectrum.
