Yes!. It's Bontche Schweig or Bontche (Bontsha or Bontshe) the Silent depending on translator. The story was written by I.L. Peretz. There are well-wrought versions in *The Seven Good Years and The Case Against the Wind*, both translated by Esther Hautzig. It also appears in Ausubel's *ATreasury of Jewish Folklore*. And, there are both oral and online versions on *Jewish Short Stories from Eastern Europe and Beyond*. Sharon Elswit P.S.
