Hi All, I bought a personal copy at a book sale years ago for pennies. I have since then used it with book discussions that have themes of Pre-World War II or the Holocaust. (ie In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson) Some of the entries are frightening given the hindsight and what came to pass.

That 1939 encyclopedia is quite special. It describes many European Jewish communities before the Holocaust that n longer exist today. I definitely recommend that you keep it. When I coordinated the Temple Beth Shalom library in Spokane, WA, the custodian found a copy of that encyclopedia. I looked through it and realized what a treasure it was.
