By all means keep it!

The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia was produced
with an agenda - that Jews were very much part of America's history. Remember,
there was considerable anti-Semitism in the U S during the 1930s (both genteel
and guttersnipe), and the UJE was intended to boost Jewish
self-esteem.

There are articles on important Jewish Americans
completely overlooked by the EJ. (After all, the explicit agenda of the EJ was
Zionist.)

Keep it! It makes great reading. (I personally think
editorial standards were higher back then.)

Phil Miller
Emeritus
