This appears to be level-3 mapped data. We get similar looking data from <oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov> and in that case the scaling works, but without a proper provenance there are no guarantees. The attribute data should include a "Title" string like "HMODISA Level-3 Standard Mapped Image". I often use "ncdump -h" (with ncdump from hdf4, not from netcdf!), but the same information is available in hdfview. > > On Tue, Dec 14, 2010 at 7:59 PM, Peter Cao <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> You may want to try HDF-EOS plugin to see if the data looks good for you. >> http://newsroom.gsfc.nasa.gov/sdptoolkit/HDFView/HDFViewDownload.html >> >> On 12/14/2010 1:18 AM, mahesh shiramgond wrote: >> >> Dear HDF Group users, >> >> The data(HDF4 files) I am downloading from NASA EOS programme is imported >> to HDF Viewer and its only a grid data not Images.
