Hi Anu, it sounds like you want to bump to PB3 because PB2 won't be supported
during the lifetime of Hadoop 3. I'm not that concerned by this, since our
current version of PB has been quite stable. We haven't had any maintenance
issues thus far, besides when we asked Google to rehost the PB 2.5 binary when
they migrated to github from google code.
This is why I asked about advantages besides it being newer. Are there any
known bugs or issues with PB2.5 that are addressed by PB3?
