Ayush Saxena commented on HDFS-11246:
-------------------------------------
Thanx [~hexiaoqiao] for the patch, On a quick view, the patch looks fair
enough,
It follows the same pattern as Daryn suggested, try -- lock -- try -- unlock.
Since it is quite big, I couldn't check each line, shall complete it in next
couple of days to ensure, we don't miss on anything.
[~daryn] any cycles for review?
> FSNameSystem#logAuditEvent should be called outside the read or write locks

> {code}
> readLock();
> boolean success = true;
> ContentSummary cs;
> try {
> checkOperation(OperationCategory.READ);
> cs = FSDirStatAndListingOp.getContentSummary(dir, src);
> } catch (AccessControlException ace) {
> success = false;
> logAuditEvent(success, operationName, src);
> throw ace;
> } finally {
> readUnlock(operationName);
> }
> {code}
> It would be nice to have audit logging outside the lock esp. in scenarios
> where applications hammer a given operation several times.
