So I am looking at different technologies to try with my new hexayurt
at Burning Man. Hopefully I can use these technologies in the next
'structure' I create for myself in the real world. Wait BM is the
real world this is just the illusion, hehehe.
Paper moops less than insulation so I am hoping for a much easier time
with a Paper based Honeycomb Hexayurt. Meaning I must have used 4
different kinds of tape to keep from mooping.

Different ideas to make a very comfortable Hexayurt for the Desert(If
you have tried these let us know how they worked)
-Mylar with paint over top - I don't want a big shiney hexayurt this
time.
-Ceramic Paint to help insulate and Fire resistant paint to help keep
the whole thing safe(not sure how it will work on cardboard) -

-Heavy duty paper tape for edges and pretaping the folds -http://
www.packagingsupplies.com/Gummed_Tape.html
-Folding Stretch Hexayurt using all Triangles -

-Cooling System for the inside of the Hexayurt - link just posted -
http://www.sleepbreeze.co.uk/boffinscorner.htm -Also some type of vent
fan to help exchange air at night and keep room cool during the day
(looking at something in the roof with a playa filter - the 70 mile
winds last year might rip off anything sticking out)
-Airlock to keep out the outside and keep in the inside(of course I am
building smaller so the airlock will need to be smaller and may be
useless because of that)-

-Better Guidelines then straight out -

Just a note about taping on the playa - Bidirectional filament tape is
amazing until it hits the playa then it is useless.

I am going to try to document all that I do with my Hexayurt this
year. Last year I did a bit of documenting just not a lot. I know
that the interior of the Hexayurt got to about 80 degrees and stayed
close to that all the time. I did not have a good air exchange
system. I used wall windows and a fan and it did not allow for proper
exchange as the heat got trapped at the top. Also I kept hitting my
head going in and out. The 8 foot hexayurt with 6 foot walls that I
helped make for pin hole camera was much more comfortable to walk
into. I just don't need that much space or should I say I will see if
I need that much space and maybe next year I create another new
hexayurt.

All this so I can sleep past noon and stay up even later. I don't
want to miss any sunrises or sunsets this year.

So those are the ideas and I would love to hear your suggestions,
comments and real world experiences.
