I have a cargo van, and I was going to go with the 1.5 or 2 inch Rmax. Thanks for responding, now I have made up my mind.
Romain, one more question... I was going to cut the 8' panels down to 6', and use the extra 2' to make a new panel with the 6" tape after cutting three panels. That way, for transport, they will be 4x6 panels, and three full panels and three fabricated ones, since I will need 12 panels for the base if I go that route. Is that how you did it? Perhaps you cut an 8' right down the middle to get two 2' x 8's and taped them to the stock panel to get a 6'x8'? As far as $700 for an air "cooling" unit(aka Swamp cooler)- just get used generator or brand new at Checker Auto Parts, where they are dirt cheap, and a used a/c of Craiglists and be done with it. You will still save $100-$200. If by chance, you need a generator that is whisper quiet and super efficient, search the reviews on the Honda eu2000i. I ran an estimate as to what my homebuilt shelter weighed last year- about 2000 pounds!! (glad I had a diesel back then)- not including my stuff or appliances; ceiling fan, a/c, gray-water filtration shower, bunk bed, fridge... I can't wait to do the hexayurt this year! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "hexayurt" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
