If the gator board snaps, you will need to figure out how to reinforce /
repair it. With the insulation board you can literally throw/stick gorilla
tape at the problem. The mylar also might be a pain to deal with / moopy.

I made a large hexayurt darkroom for pinhole photography one year, I have
also made an 8' cardboard box cube house. That might be a better use of
your materials. Here are some plans:

the material costs are a bit cheaper and ease of construction make the
card board box house a bit more interesting.
