So this gator board is actually quite stiff. From the website:
*
*
*"Gatorfoam is a series of unique, lightweight structural panels consisting
of a rigid Polystyrene <http://tri-dee.com/Polystyrene%20fact%20sheet.htm> foam
core faced on both sides by smooth, moisture resistant man-made wood fiber
veneers. The foam and veneers are permanently bonded together in a sandwich
construction. The face laminates have been specially developed to provide
an excellent surface for painting, silk screening, laminating and photo
mounting."*

It has a bit of flex in it, and could be reinforced with additional strips
of GF or tape, if necessary. I found these specs online:

One thing I am concerned about is the sustained 165F limit. That was the
impetus for the mylar coating. I was planning on just hitting the boards
with a layer of adhesive spray, then squeegee-ing the mylar on a la window
cling. Then tape the edges and cut panels, then tape new edges. Then build.
