Good point on fire - in particular, beware carbon monoxide build up inside.
Hexayurts are far more air tight than tents!

Two tips.

1) The tape at the bottom of each roof panel has to be done *really*
carefully. Rain will run down the roof panel, hit the tape, and then either
go up-and-over and harmlessly off the side of your hexayurt, or it will hit
the tape and go under, and then eventually into the hexayurt or just soak
the foam. You might wind up using a layer of something like gorilla tape on
the interface between the filament tape and the roof just to protect that
seam - the rubbery glues form a more comprehensive bond than the

2) You'll want to insulate the floor. You've got a lot of insulation
between you and the air, but the ground sucks heat a lot more effectively
than the air does, and usually you would only have a plastic tarp between
you and the ground. That's great for Burning Man, it significantly helps
the hexayurt stay cool - if you've ever been in a hexayurt with a carpet
floor you'll really feel the difference. But for your applications, you'll
want a covering. Softiles http://www.softtiles.com/ and equivalent products
are great: a bit expensive, but great. Carpet, once it is wet, won't really
insulate at all, and that's Damned Inconvenient. Tarp, then carpet, then
tarp would probably work reasonably well, although the top tarp will tend
to wear fast.

Hope that helps,
