A vent is an excellent idea, but not at the peak. Rummage around at Home Depot for a roof vent and cut a hole to suit in one of the roof panels. Install it BEFORE you put the roof on the building, though.
The best thing I found to do for the peak: I fashioned a six-sided roof cone from flashing, and dropped a line with a wire hook from the end of that. Properly installed, it keeps rain out of the (very unreliable) roof joint AND gives you something to hang an LED lantern from inside the yurt.
