Okay, thanks. I've seen the rope should be 24' elsewhere (here... http://www.domerama.com/types-of-domes/hexayurts/hexayurt-construction/) The one I'm using is a standard H12 not stretch one. I guess getting the longer rope and then cutting it if needed could work.
I would use ratchet straps for the guy lines but with regular rebar (non candy cane nor staples) I think I'm better off with rope or paracord (I think the latter might be easier to tie onto the rope?) Any thoughts on length? I'm thinking ten feet each should be good. I've seen people also do different number of guy lines but I would think six would be tightest. Still seems odd to me that the rope halo (with the guy lines) are enough to keep the yurt in place, but maybe that will be clear once I actually do it. Thanks for all the help in any case!
