Speaking of cooling off and water, here's another possibility: I have a good friend with a very lovely old camp (main house, and a couple of smaller buldings) on a lake up here. Camp is rented out from July 4th through Labor Day but is mostly available at other times. Sleeps 10 I think, and our house only a few miles away could sleep more if necessary. If this sounds good to folks, let me know, and I will endeavor to book it for a weekend and put something together.

One thought might be to gather up here in fall, and in Boston in spring?

Dear Sasha, Dan, Jake, Melissa, Beverly, Nan, Henry, and all the rest:

There is a number of us in the Northeast - why not get together?
The newcomers, the oldtimers, and all. Let's meet, swap stories about
cottoning, tuning tangents, house breaking the dog (and training the
wrist), and more.

Why, Suzanne came even with an idea of having our own "Over the Water"
gathering! Let's meet in Boston, and board the Boston DuckTour amphibious
vehicles with our hurdy gurdies. Suzanne will bring her duck call, and
we all can bring our duck tape. When floating over the water, we can play,
and swap duck tape stories. We see who will come up with the most imaginative
use of duck tape when dealing with a hurdy gurdy...

If you want to sign up, or just add your 2-cent's worth, email us at

See you in Boston!
