I just got back from a week away (St. Chartier, etc.), so I'm not sure if
I've missed some of this thread (too many new emails), but...
Chants de Vielles is September 9 and 10 (very near Montreal), and should be
a great gathering of those of the east coast crowd that can make it. The
programme is on the web site at:

If you click on "programmation" you can view the festival programme in
French, and at the bottom of the page is a link for the English translation.
There will hopefully be some pre-festival activities in Montreal, at the
very least to have one or two sessions beforehand... more info to follow.
In any case, Montreal is a great city, lots of culture, cheap food and
accomodations, etc.

I'm very much in favor of an east-coast hg gathering, and I'm happy to see
that a few people have stepped forward as potential hosts. Keep me

And what was with that link to a website in French? Could someone take
pity on this monolingual product of the New York City school system and
provide some info about that event in English?
