Hi everyone,
As most of you probably know already, there is a super hurdy gurdy and
traditional music festival near Montreal on September 9-10. Chants de
Vielles promises a great line-up of concerts, workshops, jamming, singing,
dancing; outside of the city, but easily accesible... check out:

I am in the process of organising some pre-festival events in Montreal
during the two days before the festival (September 7-8). We have the
possibility of offering a workshop with RT Taylor on one or both of these
days, and I would like to know if there are people on this list who would be
interested in participating. The workshop would focus on basic playing
technique, and would be an opportunity for interested hurdy gurdy players to
meet before the festival and learn a lot from RT, who is a great teacher.
Montreal is within driving distance from much of the eastern US -
accomodations in the city are quite reasonable, and during the festival
there is free camping on-site.
Please contact me off-list if you are interested.
Tobie
