Celtic nations series
Georgia Southern University is hosting a number of
lectures, discussions, workshops and concerts relating to the seven Celtic
nations.
World-renowned French hurdy-gurdy masters Gilles
Chabenat and Patrick Bouffard will lead three conversations and interactive
demonstrations of the hurdy-gurdy, a medieval stringed instrument commonly used
in Breton folk music. They will end the discussion with a concert. Chabenat
plays an experimental electro-acoustic hurdy-gurdy, while Bouffard plays a 19th
century one.
