Seth:
I made a long sanding board about 3" wide and 30" long. I attached a handle to
the top, like a Stanley plane handle and glued sandpaper to the bottom. If you
sand 'longways' you will follow the contour the braces shaping the edges so the
top fits nicely to the curve. I use 120 grit from a 6" X 48" cloth sanding
belt and it went surprisingly quickly.

  Subject: [HG] HG question please

What is the standard method of making the sides of a hurdy gurdy one's
building angled down so when the curved top is fastened down it will be flush
with the sides at an angle.. I know if I just leave the top flat I can avoid
this but it seems nicer with the curved top... Cheers, Seth
