Hello,

does anybody know about a Paris eighteenth century maker called Varquain?
there is a hg sold at auction in Madrid. It is a Louvet-type instrument,
with the label "Varquain 1747" on the keybox. The keys seem to have been
restored, and it's curious that it seems like if the original
mouche+trompette bridge has been changed for another drone bridge, keeping
however the dog tuning head. The instrument is in a very bad condition,
although an experienced luthier could take it back to life. It is a
beautiful instrument anyway.

Sincerely,

Oscar.
