I have not seen the acctual case. But usually the "restorer" mirrores
the drone bridge instead of making a normal mouche and trompette bridge.
I guess the trompette bridge in such cases was missing, or this 
"restorers" thought that the slot is a notch.
Such "restoring" can only take place if the "restorer" does not know
and care a f.rt about the instrument he his working on. I hope this 
does not happen anymore today.
