I have not seen the acctual case. But usually the "restorer" mirrores the drone bridge instead of making a normal mouche and trompette bridge. I guess the trompette bridge in such cases was missing, or this "restorers" thought that the slot is a notch. Such "restoring" can only take place if the "restorer" does not know and care a f.rt about the instrument he his working on. I hope this does not happen anymore today.

Yes, he was a well known maker.

it's curious that it seems like if the

It's a modern "restoration" made by a
not-so-well-informed-guy :-) I've seen this in several
HGs in several museum.
