  Hello R.T.

You're right, they did. Last year there were two guys who built lutebacks,
but they had a special agreement with Nupi Jenner. In 2000 lutebacks were in
the regular offer but in the last years there were only boxtype-HG's on
programm. The boxtype costs are approx. 1200.- Euros for the instrument and
full accommodation. But you could ask Nupi ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) about the
possibility of building another type of HG.

  Regards

  Ernst

    Hello Ernst.

Do they also teach you how to build a lute back Vielle at these workshops?

I seem to remember that he did and they they were not very expensive.

      Bulky?

Well, the dimensions are 60(without crank)x20x17cm
(23.62x7.87x6.69inches), IMHO not really big. I did also build one of this
box-type HG in a course at Rappottenstein-castle and during the course I got
some nice comments like "...it looks like a shoe polishing toolbox..." :o(
Don't let yourself be fooled about the foto: the child is Nupis daughter
when she was 5 or 6! Maybe...

I understand. It is a bit bulky to my taste. I'd like to build a
smaller one
as it will be primarily for my daughter. Then not too loud and big are
        actually quite nice factors.

There must be some more plans around!

        Greetings,

        Douwe
