hi i am jim i have been playing HG for about 13 years. i was enchanted by the sound when i first heard one. i have an olympic "apprentice" i love the sweet mellow sound... it has served me well for these many years. as i worked local area ren faires. how ever i am looking to upgrade to a full size instrument mine is only about 1 1/2 octaves which leaves me short for some tunes. if i do find a good instrument to upgrade to i would probably sell the Olympic... am i allowed to do that on this venue? i play a lot of different styles from scottish pipe tunes to the french stuff... i like to pretty much ignore the dog. just personal preference. however, i have been know to use it now and then on some tunes... i guess my music preference is if i like it i learn it if i have enough notes *L* i also play hammered dulcimer that instrument a "dusty strings" D 300 also came from the seattle area like my HG.... nice to meet ya all visit my website if you would like... oh yea i live in SE Wisconsin USA jim
