Open letter to Emily Jacquard of Reporters Without Borders
Dear Emily ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) - Feb 2, 2006
It is easy for you to say Emily, but keep in mind if they had have pissed on us they would have offended us less than what the have done to our prophet. So if someone literally defecated on you or one of your loved one how would you react? This has nothing to do with freedom of _expression_ and has everything to do with incitement and expressions of raw hatred. Yes, the paper does not speak for the Danish governments or the Danish people but given the widespread support for the paper and the government's refusal to do anything about the situation speaks volumes and this point cannot be glossed over. While these people take religion as something to play with, keep in mind that for Muslims their faith constitute the very core of their collective identities and when the Prophet is attacked then they are attacked. In addition, any attempts by the political and religious leaders in the Muslim countries to calm Muslims down will be interpreted as complicity with those who published !

Denmark embroiled in Muslim controversy
The protracted, still-raging controversy over a Danish newspaper's caricature of the Prophet Muhammad is a case study of the West's troubled relations with Muslims. It features the easy clichés of the age freedom of speech vs. Islamic intolerance, and open democratic debate vs. politically correct cravenness.

Hellfire and Damnation: The Washington Consensus for Murder
Last month, President George W. Bush murdered four children. This is not a controversial statement. There is no dispute about the facts. Indeed, Bush's own minions fully acknowledge even celebrate the deed. Nor has the political opposition or the national media offered the slightest objection to the principle of presidential murder.

The Pestilent Presidency
George W. Bush is a corporatist without intelligence, an unknowing, incurious, detached and ignorant human beings, a puppet to much brighter individuals, a tool for the corporate world. He does not care for the unenlightened souls that see him as Dear Leader, nor the soldiers he sends to either die or sacrifice mental health.

To spread democracy abroad, respect the law at home
George W. Bush entered the White House in 2001 with an expansive view of the presidential power that Johnson had lost. The most important manifestation of this has now come with his assertion of the power to order warrantless intercepts of the communications of people in the United States suspected of connections with terrorist groups.

The more the White House tries to force-feed democracy to tempestuous parts of the world, the more it discovers that you may be able to spin and scare voters in the U.S., but the Middle East is not so easy to manipulate.

Revealed: how Blair's 12-point plan to combat terrorism now lies in tatters
Many of the measures promised by Tony Blair in the wake of the London bombings last summer have been dropped or shelved despite his dramatic warning to terrorists that "the rules of the game are changing". Six months after the Prime Minister's pledge, an analysis by The Independent shows that only five of the 12 proposals he unveiled are likely to be implemented in full. Yesterday opposition parties criticised the slow progress in bringing forward the "urgent" measures promised by Mr Blair at a Downing Street press conference last August before he left for his summer break.
