you could scrap the temp ent and do it the way that I did..

load up entity.cpp in the client, and in the HUD_CreateEntities call, do
a check to see if NVG is on, if it's on, make your light with a life of
0.001
(like a rocket trail) and it'll light up nicely, all on the client
without using a temp ent.

Subject: [hlcoders] Problems with NightVision

Hy.

I added the night vision to the Single Player code, it works very well,
but
i have one small problem.
If i go to the next level with the night vision turned on, the game goes
berserk (can't use any weapon, can't talk to scientiests and if i use
impulse 101 it crashes).

I use a temporary entity to light up the area in a greenesh light (also
theres a "fadein" to green to make it evenmore realistic).
Could it be that this temporary entity is crashing the game, and if so,
what could i do (i meen, could i dispose of it and recreate it when a
level
change occurs, and if so what file should i modify).

Any help is welcomed.
