Changing the angle of view like that doesn't give a true isometric view, it
gives you a perspective view from an angle that makes it sort-of isometric
looking.

To do true isometric view, where the x and y world axes appear to be at 30
degrees to the z axis requires the engine to do the transform from the world
space to the camera space in a different way. The closest example is the way
that the engine renders the hltv overviews, instead of having a perpective
view, it produces a flat plan view.

You can actually, pretty much the way you did commander mode in NS, except
instead of looking totally flat; change one of the angles.

Last I knew, this wasn't possible.  I heard that VALVe was possibly going to
open up the view transform, but haven't done so yet.  I can't imagine how
you could do this in the current SDK, but I'm sure there are way more clever
people here then I.
