Excuse the title, My clipboard slipped up and I meant the title to be "Bad command character in client command".
I figured I'd add in the full log as well: Compressing split packet (400 -> 192 bytes) Error: server failed to transmit file 'sound/' Error: server failed to transmit file 'sound/' Error: server failed to transmit file 'sound/' Bad command character in client command Host_EndGame: Server disconnected -----Original Message----- From: voogru [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, July 03, 2004 8:08 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [hlcoders] SV_ReadClientMessage: unknown command char (255) This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Hello, For the life of me, I can't figure out this error. I've googled it and came up upon an old hlcoders post that it may be related to precaching too many sounds (I'm getting the exact same thing), blocking the precache sound function also fixes the problem, however for obvious resources that's not really an option to leave in. NS precaches 396 different sounds, which I doubt is going over the half-life engine limit. I've uploaded a fill list of the sounds here: http://www.voogru.com/sounds.txt Again, disabling the precaching of the sounds (by hooking the function and returning 0) fixes the problem, but I'd like to know exactly what causes this and what can be done to fix it. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks - voogru. -- _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlcoders _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlcoders
