-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] It is weird to see that you still encountered this problem coz it has normally been fixed in an engine update done few months ago. I don't have to use this tip now. You don't need anymore steam.inf server side neither client side. But seeing you still have this problem sounds bad. I don't understand. Making your audeince changing steam.inf each time engine is changing is not a good fix. I hope Valve will be able to identify why it still occurs. > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: hlcoders@list.valvesoftware.com> Subject: Re: > [hlcoders] Your version does not match the Servers.> Date: Tue, 30 Oct 2007 > 00:07:01 -0400> > --> [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ]> also > of note, that's an entirely differnet problem than what we're talking> > about.> > that fix doesn't solve not being able to join from server browser, > or stop> the dedicated server from spitting out "masterserverrequestrestart > please> restart to get the latest update" or whatever the exact message is. > The fix> that i put in my last reply, fixes both.> it's annoying, but it > works.> > > On 10/30/07, Tony omega Sergi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:> >> > > And i'm telling you it doesn't work - tried to make it work that way all> > > day, until i discovered this other workaround.> > By using the hl2mp version > info, with the source sdk base appid tonight> > just so that a playtest could > be made.> > it still loads appid 215, but it tricks the servers into not > trying to> > issue an invalid version message from steam because it makes the > "hl2mp" and> > "1.0.0.12" match.> > so the steam.inf included in both the > server and client for the mod looks> > like this:> > PatchVersion=1.0.0.12> > > ProductName=hl2dm> > appID=215> >> > and it's worked, even for people without > hl2mp.> >> >> > On 10/29/07, Justin Krenz <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:> > >> > > > > http://forums.hl2ctf.net/index.php?showtopic=3654&pid=37174&mode=threaded&show=&st=&#entry37174> > > >> > >> > > Mike Durand disagrees.
