I just solved the entire duck jumping problem (including this instant
snapping of the origin). I will be posting the solution on the VDC (wiki)
shortly.

Start/FinishUnDuckJump functions are actually never used, the booleans
required to enter that phase of the ducking function are never satisfied.

If the player duck jumps they get directed instantly to "FinishDuck" which
does exactly what you said in point 2.
