here's my network structure: Servers -->Zyxel Zywall router-->SDSL service with true nat'ing..each server has its own STATIC internal IP that is natted to its own STATIC ISP IP..ie: 24.90.45.77 (public IP) natted to 172.16.10.55 (internal IP), GATEWAY of 172.16.10.1
Workstations-->Zyxel Zywall router-->CABLE ISP..with SUA only, since cable is dynmaic IP, all my workstations access internet via 1 ISP IP. Each workstation has its own static internal IP. GATEWAY 172.16.10.200. I can switch between gateways of course, but since I have the SDSL dedicated to my servers ie: CS, Webserver/Forum i don't use this gateway to surf so I won't use any of the bandwidth. The cable ISP is only for surfing/downloading etc..so the workstations can use all that bandwidth. The servers and workstations, and routers are all on the same switch, 24 port switch, and all are on the same IP/Subnet so I can see all my machines. All the gateways, IP (local) DNS are static for each computer, I'm not using DHCP of any kind. So in synapse: Servers----->Switch<----Workstations SDSL router--^ ^--Cable Router. This is perplexing since I have had this set up work for me on 1.5 using WON..but won't work for STEAM. I have the proper ports open on the firewall for STEAM and all works fine..just that I cannot get in on LAN. Oh, yes, the LAN Tab shows my server with a latency of 1..and I can see that there are players on. Now if I do a servers update, my server shows up on the list with its public IP. Strange. ----- Original Message ----- From: "DarK" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, July 31, 2004 4:05 PM Subject: RE: [hlds] 1.6 Lan proble > Please ignore the last mail from me ... my mail server clogged up and > you've told me most of what I need to know > > Does the client workstation have access to both the cable and SDSL > connections? > > If this is the case as it tries to connect to the server the machine > might be switching over the connection to the SDSL to auth...
