bleh, the battlefield community in Australia (argueably) has more tards in it then the Counter-Strike one so I've no idea why they'd be looking forward to a BF game more then CS though if they're more interested in WW2 games, then good for 'em. I personally wouldn't be too happy with the TF2 wait, but none of them have tried to create their own version so they're all equally as lazy as the developers who claimed they were going to create a new version =)
It would be nice if VALVe acknowledged the bug... or told us they're near a steam release to fix it rather then stay quiet, but I'm sure they have their reasons =)
They aren't ruining the hype yet, as this issue isn't widely known at the moment - seems only Australian server operators are reporting being hit with it for some reason, that's not really giving me much confidence in our people :/

Actually Ray alot of fellow tfc users I know have absolutely no interest in cs:source; and little interest in hl2 single player. They may very well pay for a tfc2 if it ever materializes and is not full of bugs. Until then I know quite a few that are waiting for bf2.

IMHO, I think that the main point to see here is that Ragnarok Online "DID" something about the problem and Valve has done "NOTHING"! No public announcement, no acknowledgement, no fix, no attempts even. They just pocket the money and turn their monitors away from this list and the issues with their product. The main selling point of STEAM was to allow them to patch the games silently, quickly and effectively and the only thing we've seen them do so far in this issue is to sell their products and damn the bugs. They just released a game without the full line of it's contents, features that is FULL of bugs and people are running to their checkbooks to get it. They are demonstrating some of the worst business practices in the business and the common public is falling all over themselves to spend their money with this company. *Sad* IMHO, they are doing it for the hype that they gave the game and the reputation they are ruining.

You guys (not specifically you) are really bagging VALVe out too much over this. I mean, the only reason I sent the information to this list was so server operators could effectively ban these twits, not so we could all sit around and poke fun at VALVe and whatever they may or may not have anticipated.
Before you start bagging VALVe out, look around at some of the other companies. Ragnarok Online just had it's entire database of users leaked, few months ago they had a huge outbreak of hacked accounts and had to roll back their entire system several days. Things could be a -LOT- worse over here.

Not likely at this point. (I wish them luck though.)
