It's a good analogy, Richard, but you left out the part where the car maker bolts their engine shut, assumes responsibility for preventing speeding and prohibits others from doing anything more than putting up little speed limit signs on the roads. Valve accepted responsibility for anti-cheat technology by starting VAC. They told Punkbuster to bugger off, and disabled a key part of HLGuard's previous prevention methods.
