How about leave the advertisements out of paid for games and put advertising
into 3rd party mods. For creators to get revenue.
Advertise the mods on steam.

You want to help the modding community but also want revenue for yourself
understandable, but all we see at the moment is Valve and IGA making money
and the modding community getting nothing or server providers.
