I believe I read that it is the way Vista handles sound (changed from past windows methods). You are no longer able to use hardware acceleration or some such. I am sure if you google it you will find an article about it. My point is it doesn't seem as if it is something Valve can or even should try to fix. Go yell at Bill Gates or Creative and tell them how stupid that decision seems (I say seems cause maybe they know something we don't).

EAX not working and others. http://pc.ign.com/articles/759/759538p1.html might be an interesting read. Maybe it's time Valve reprogrammed CS1.6 to comply with Vista? I'm sure they've not yet completely given up this project, as it still bring in money. However I am not sure they know why they cannot increase the price a little, as cheaters seem to have no troubles buying new accounts. _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds -- No virus found in this incoming message.
