+map is NOT necessary on the command line if you have a map entry in your autoexec.cfg. I never use +map on the command line. My autoexec looks something like this, and the map entry does the same thing that +map on the command line does.
echo "--==*** Loading autoexec.cfg ***==--" fullserverinfo exec violence.cfg map subtransit maxplayers 12 hostname "Ooks Steaming Pile of Crap" rcon_password <rcon password goes here> sv_enableoldqueries 1 log oN logaddress_add 10.0.0.12 27500 logaddress_add 10.0.0.2 7130 echo "--==*** Done with autoexec.cfg ***==--" ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stephane Bagneris" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, July 06, 2007 4:24 AM Subject: Re: [HLDS] *absolutely* impossible to connect ot server no matter how it is setup. I have read several faqs on *non steam* websites. Yes, they did look a bit outdated and NO they did not mention the fact that +map is of the UTMOST importance so the server may actually start properly. <snip> _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
