heh, I've never used host_map, it seems to be stuck on dod_colmar for me at 
the moment no matter what map is running (dodsbeta).

nextlevel does appears to work for me:

    nextlevel "dod_palermo"

took me to palermo when the map changed, then the mapcycle continued from 
where it would have gone if I hadn't used the nextlevel command.
