My recommendation would be to use MyBB instead of phpBB. I have experimented/tested both and found MyBB to be: easier to use, updated more frequently, and more customizable.
I would agree that this topic should not have been posted here, but it is crazy how many stupid responses were sent saying it shouldn't be here. I would hate to see what this looks like in any email client other than gmail.
